School Improvement Grants: Take 2

Today, my excellent team released a new report titled School Improvement Grants: Take 2.
In that report, we argue that states need to think of the SIG program as an aggressive lever for real reform. To that end, they should create “intra-state Race to the Top” competitions, giving fewer, larger grants to districts and schools that commit to real change.
I encourage you to read the whole thing, as the SIG program largely has flown under the radar. We’re trying to change that! I’ll be teasing out elements from that report over the coming days and weeks …
