Kevin Carey is Right

… and not just because he called me “smart” on his blog yesterday.  Read his post on how the premise of Groundhog Day almost always is misrepresented:

The whole point of Groundhog Day, after all, is not that we’re doomed to live the same day over and over. It’s that while we can’t change the immutable laws and primal forces in the world around us.

Not to give away too much, but this will be central to my comments on turnaround at the Fordham event.  Only when we start to behave differently – and change the rules of engagement – will schools change.
